Discernment & clarity

They say things happen for a reason.

I have become increasingly envious of people who seem to have things going their way. You know those people too. Those who seem to lead perfect lives, with perfect families and perfect houses. They may even have the perfect dog. Or those who seem to be in tune with the universe, so much so that all the forces in the universe seem to conspire, enabling them to jump from one opportunity to the other. And especially, those who seem utterly content with their lives, regardless of what they do or where they are.

I say seem because I am only aware of the parts of their lives I see. Just as you only see the parts of my life I let you see.

They say things happen for a reason. It may very well be so. Whether you say serendipity or coincidence, the things I did today led me to the two things I needed to hear. One was a welcome treat, one, I found out later, I need to hold on to in order to heed the second, more challenging thing.

Or maybe it is just Mercury in retrograde.
